IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR PART II EXAMINEES

The PART II DIPLOMATE ORAL EXAMINATION of MARCH 2021 will be conducted ONLINE.

Announcement of the final schedule of the March 2021 Part II Diplomate Oral Exam Dry Run will be made as soon as the schedule is completed.  

Guidelines and Rules for the Online Conduct of the Oral Exam are the following:

  1. Things needed for the exam:
    1. Stable internet connection ensured by a reliable internet provider, with a recommended bandwidth of 6 Mbps, is a must.
    2. Support devices, i.e. smart phone, tablet, laptop or personal computer, will be used. A second gadget, preferably a smart phone with data, is also needed; this second gadget will be used as a proctoring device and as a back-up in case of disconnection.
    3. A half body mirror is required; this shall be properly placed behind the examinee to show his/her main device for exam delivery and the surroundings of the exam site.
  2. Before the exam:
    1. There will be a dry-run conducted with the assistance of the POGS Secretariat, to confirm a stable internet connection and to familiarize the examinee with the exam set-up. The dry-runs can be done 2-3 times as deemed necessary.
    2. A Conforme and a Code of Honor will be sent by e-mail. If the examinee wishes to pursue taking the oral exam via the online platform under set conditions, he or she should sign both forms and have them notarized. These documents should be scanned and emailed back to PBOG.
    3. A government-issued ID must be ready on hand and shown for identity verification upon registration and on the exam day.
  3. During the exam:
    1. Examinees are expected to be on time. Those who will be late will no longer be admitted into the waiting room.
    2. Please dress appropriately. Have on hand only the needed devices and an ID.
    3. No virtual background is allowed.
    4. The examinee will be sworn in reciting the Code of Honor which he/she initially signed.
    5. An examinee will only be allowed to be disconnected twice. Reconnection should be done within two minutes. The second gadget can be used in the event of a disconnection. If the allowed number of times of disconnection and/or the time elapsed for reconnection is/are exceeded, the examinee will no longer be allowed to continue with the exam. It will be decided by the Board how he/she will re-apply for the next Oral Exams.
    6. In the event that it is the PBOG Examiner who will be disconnected, the other examiner will wait for reconnection before proceeding with the exam. An available examiner called from another breakout room may serve as the second examiner to complete the exam. If both examiners get disconnected, contingencies will be done to address this matter.
    7. For cases needing deliberation, the en banc decision of the Board will be final.
  • Should an approved examinee decide to defer taking the oral exam, he or she should write the PBOG stating a valid reason for the deferral. The letter shall be reviewed and deliberated on by the board en banc.

  • Payment during the examination will not be entertained.

  • Applicants’ compilations/logbooks will be released and ready for claiming/pick-up at the POGS Building on March 22, 2021 to April 22, 2021. For those who are from the regions that will require shipping/delivery costs, kindly deposit payment for the shipping/delivery of your documents/logbooks, to the POGS BDO Account. Unclaimed logbooks will be shredded one month after the Part II examination.
